KEN HACKSHAW

Ken Hackshaw is the Managing Director and Lead Consultant at KH Business Consulting Limited (KHBC) as well as the Founder and President of the Caribbean Risk Management Academy (CRMA) and the Chief Executive Officer of the Trinidad and Tobago Risk Management Institute (TTRMI). He is also the Senior Lecturer of the International Certificate in Enterprise Risk Management (IC:ERM) – a program developed by Mr. Hackshaw and offered by the CRMA in collaboration with the UWI Cavehill Sagicor School of Business and Management. Mr. Hackshaw is one of the co-authors of the book “Interdisciplinary Perspectives on Covid-19 and The Caribbean, Volume 1: The State, Economy and Health” having contributed to the chapter “COVID-19 Pandemic: Mainstreaming Risk Assessment and Management” alongside Dr. Wayne Charles-Soverall.

His international career spans 23 years working in New York, USA and London, England, in the fields of Operational Risk Management, International Operations and Business Process Re-engineering. He has held various senior executive positions including Senior Risk Analyst, Depository Trust and Clearing Corporation, N.Y.; Vice President, Deutsche Bank, N.Y. & London; and Vice President, Electronic Data Systems (EDS), N.Y. After gaining extensive experience internationally, Mr. Hackshaw established the KH Business Consulting Ltd. in 2010 (KHBC) and the Trinidad and Tobago Risk Management Institute in 2012 (TTRMI), in the Caribbean. Mr. Hackshaw later founded the Caribbean Risk Management Academy (CRMA), a US registered company, in 2020 with regional relationships and partnerships in Risk Management.

Mr. Hackshaw currently serves on the Board of Directors of the St. Vincent Co-operative Bank Limited and the Advisory Board of Shomea (A non-for-profit association created by specialized doctors aiming to change the status quo in Sub-Saharan Africa).

Mr. Hackshaw holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, a Diploma in Law, and a Certificate of Higher Education in law from the University of London and advanced training and certification in Operational Risk Management, International Securities Processing and Project Management. He has also completed a Post Graduate Diploma in Risk Management and Strategic Thinking from Stanford University.

NATASHA SUBERO

Natasha Subero is a Technology Entrepreneur and Strategic Risk Management Consultant with expertise in conceptualization, planning and implementation of successful growth and transformation projects. She consults with the Caribbean Risk Management Academy, KHBC Limited and LCI International Inc, for regional and international companies and lectures on Technology, Leadership, Strategy, Risk Management, Business Process Reengineering and Teambuilding. She has worked with international and regional public and private sector organizations and serves on the Boards of several companies from sectors including Asset Management, Education, and Technology.

Natasha is also a Human Resource Management Consultant with wide experience and excellent results in Organisational Transformation and Change Management. Her key to delivering highly impactful work is through integrating technology optimization, strategic anagement, risk management, and human resource management. The foundations of her experience came from the Financial Services and Management Consulting sectors where her work spanned the Caribbean territories of Grenada, Barbados, Jamaica, Guyana, and Suriname. As a trainer, she delivers workshops and courses for the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business in Employee Relations and Human Resource Management, and for the Caribbean Risk Management Academy in Strategy and Risk Culture.

A self-taught developer, Natasha holds Bachelor of Science in Management and Finance with Honours from the University of the West Indies; a Master of Business Administration from the Arthur Lok Jack Global School of Business, University of the West Indies; and a Diploma in Communications from the University of Dayton. She completed additional professional training in Business Process Engineering; Marketing, Communications and Media; Leadership Development, Finance and Project Management. A lifelong learner, Natasha most recently commenced the Bachelor of Law degree from the University of London.

DR KAREN HARDY

Dr. Karen Hardy is the CEO and Chief Risk Officer of Strategic Leadership Advisors LLC. Dr. Hardy is a scholar-practitioner, having built an Enterprise Risk Management solution across 12 bureaus from the ground up at the U.S. Department of Commerce (a $7B cabinet-level agency) impacting 47,000 employees. Her program and operation was cited by GAO as a leading practice across government. As the Deputy Chief Risk Officer, Dr. Hardy was the first to hold this position at the Department, created its first Risk Profile and policy, and established the role of 12 bureau Risk Management Officers. Dr. Hardy was recruited by OMB in 2014 to serve as the Senior Advisor for Risk Management, working side-by-side with the U.S. Controller in establishing ERM policy across federal government. She is an original contributing author of the revised July 2016 OMB Circular A-123 and is the original author of ERM language included in OMB Circular A-11.

Dr. Hardy is seen as a visionary and master influencer in the field. She has a long history and commitment to the development and adoption of risk management across industries. She wrote the first research paper on the subject of ERM in government for the IBM Center for the Business of Government in 2010. In 2015-2017, she was selected to serve as a member of the COSO ERM Advisory Board. In 2014, she received the Most Promising New Textbook Award for her book “Enterprise Risk Management: A Guide for Government Professionals. It reached #6 on the Amazon Risk Management Top 100 List.

Dr. Hardy is a founder and Board Vice President of the Association of Federal Enterprise Risk Management and received the ERM Hall of Fame Award in 2017. She recently delivered a branded talk on Embracing Chaos at the Harvard University School of Education. Her Flip This Risk podcast was named as one of the Top 50 Podcasts to listen to in 2021 by Thinkers360. She is a graduate of the Federal Executive Institute and the recipient of two Bronze Medal Awards. Dr. Hardy received her Doctorate in Organizational Leadership and Human Resource Development from Nova Southeastern University in Fort Lauderdale, Florida.

Outside of work, Dr. Hardy supports social causes through film and co-produced a 4-time EMMY Award winning documentary on Veterans with PTSD. The film also won a Telly Award.

DR WAYNE SOVERALL

Dr. Wayne Charles-Soverall is a Public Policy Advisor, Public Management practitioner, and Lifelong Learning professional who specializes in strategic leadership and change management. He is the Deputy Chairman, Barbados TVET Council, which seeks to bridge the gap between academia and industry through hands-on training, empowerment management, and life-long learning experiences.

Dr. Soverall previously served as Senior Lecturer at the Cave Hill Campus, UWI, Barbados, where he conducts lectures in Government, Business & Society; Public Employment Relations; and Professional Development Workshops. Dr. Soverall is Director and Strategic Advisor to Idwach Global Co. Ltd. (IGCL), a One-Stop-Shop provider of innovative solutions including advisory and consultancy services that are aligned to unique Change Management, Institutional Strengthening, Technological, Educational, Human Capital, and Workforce Development Incubators with their respective prototypes. He is also the Founder and Managing Director, Caribbean Icons (The Iconic Caribbean).

Dr. Soverall has over 25 plus years of experience in public policy advice to Caribbean Governments and Public Sector Agencies. He designed the Postgraduate Diploma in Public Sector Management for senior public sector officials. He earned his Postgraduate Degree in Political Science at The University of the West Indies, Cave Hill Campus, Barbados. He completed his Master of Arts in Urban Policy and Administration from Brooklyn College, New York, and his Bachelor of Arts in Psychology from Pace University, New York.
