Power Grid Attacks: Are We Concerned Yet?
“Just three days before two electrical substations were shot up, causing tens of thousands of customers to lose power in North Carolina, the federal Department of Homeland Security issued a bulletin warning “lone offenders and small groups” could be plotting attacks and that the nation’s critical infrastructure was among the possible targets”… ABC News (USA)
The power grids (sub-stations) in the Caribbean have always been soft targets and given what is happening in the United States, I submit that there must be raised concerns with “copycats”/bad actors out there.
There is a maxim that says: that which we are most familiar with we sometimes fail to see. Let’s ensure that the normalization of deviance mode gets kicked out.
Proactive, anticipatory, and resilient must be the mantra for our Public Utility leadership.
